Switch Mode Power Supply Unit Please read these operating instructions carefully prior to operating the unit and keep them for later reference. 1 Applications This power supply unit is used for direct current sup- ply of small units. Depending on the unit, the output voltage is 5 V , 6 V , 9 V , 12 V or 24 V . The unit is protected against short circuit, overload and over- heating. The special feature of the power supply unit is its extra low current consumption when the unit connected has been switched off: < 0.3 W or < 0.5 W for models PSS-1250DC and PSS-2430DC. 2 Safety Notes This unit corresponds to all required directives of the EU and is therefore marked with . G The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it against dripping water and splash water, high air humidity and heat (admissible ambient tempera- ture range 0 – 40 °C). G Do not operate the unit and immediately discon- nect it from the socket 1. if the unit is visibly damaged, 2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit was dropped or suffered a similar accident, 3. if malfunctions occur. In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled personnel. G For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never use chemicals or water. G No guarantee claims for the unit and no liability for any resulting personal damage or material damage will be accepted if the unit is used for other purposes than originally intended, if it is not correctly connected, if it is overloaded, or not repaired in an expert way. 3 Operation Please observe the following items in any case prior to connecting the power supply unit: 1. The output voltage of the power supply unit must comply with the operating voltage of the unit to be supplied with power ( marking of the power supply jack of the unit). 2. The current consumption of the unit to be supplied with power must be lower than the maximum out- put current of the power supply unit ( specifica- tions of both units). 3. The power supply jack of the unit to be connected must have the positive pole at the centre contact. This shows the symbol or a similar symbol at the jack. 4. The plug of the power supply unit (outside diame- ter 5.5 mm, inside diameter 2.1 mm) must fit cor- rectly. Connect the power supply unit to the unit to be sup- plied with power and then to a socket (100 – 240 V~, 50 – 60 Hz). The red operating indication of the power supply unit lights up. Subject to technical modifications. If the unit is to be put out of operation defini- tively, take it to a local recycling plant for a disposal which is not harmful to the environ- ment. WARNING The unit uses dangerous mains volt- age. Leave servicin .....
